How we calculated this

Calculation methodology

This calculation refers to the CO₂ emissions generated by a typical AI image generation model, such as a diffusion model, during the process of generating a single image. The emissions are estimated based on the energy consumption of the model's computational resources, including GPUs, and the carbon intensity of the electricity used.

74,080 kg ÷ 0.1 kg = 740,800 AI-generated images
Our forest captured: 74.08 tonnes CO₂
Emissions per AI-generated image: 0.1 kg CO₂
